MR. WEST AND HIS COLORFUL CREW OUTSIDE THE MEN’S COMME DES GARCONS SHOW. SHA-ZAM!!! HE KNOWS HOW TO MAKE AN ENTRANCE THAT’S FOR SURE. I HAVE TO SAY THAT KANYE IS VERY WARM AND FRIENDLY WHEN IT COMES TO HIS FANS AT FASHION WEEK. HE’LL ALWAYS MAKES TIME TO STOP FOR A PHOTO OR CONVERSATION WITH ANY ONE OF FANS. WHAT A GOOD SPORT

i am indifferent about kanye, but his (recent) piqued interest in fashion fascinates me. i have been awaiting a moment such as this…alas! i love!

I love Kanye West’s style. It looks they where styled for a photo-shoot (or perhaps it’s just your great photography). But it feels unstudied to me and just fabulous. Maame x

These guys all look so wak,
It’s like they were dipped in honey and rolled around in a “designer” sample bin
I bet they reenact the zoolander orange mocha frappuccino scene on a daily bases.
January 23rd, 2009 at 6:16 pm
this is an excellent photo showing what can only be described as an “epic fail” in internet terms. The 2nd man on the right is the only one who doesn’t look like a 4 year old dressed them.

I love yout blog…but I hate this pic with all my soul not because is bad photography but because I can’t stand Kanye’e ego and shallow interest for fashion….yes shallow…..this people dare to “ask” for and intership just because their rich…and people who really want it have to make lines and work their a** off to get a good job.
January 23rd, 2009 at 10:30 pm
Ah ha classic! They kinda make me think of a 2009 version of the Furious Five.
January 23rd, 2009 at 11:32 pm
That is interesting, the man to Kanyes left is from the Fruition store here in Las Vegas where I live, they’re making a big name for themselves selling to artists!

The second man from the right is Diddy’s former “assistant” Farnsworth Bentley.
I do like how they took chances and brought New York street style to the shows.
We praise Anna Piaggi as an eccentric, why not these six?

“Oh my gosh! Kanye is like sooo innovative and sooo eccentric”
NO! Kanye is a bandwagon jumping douche bag with too much money and too much time.
What a bunch of clowns.
January 26th, 2009 at 8:51 am
They look like a bunch of mildly retarded kids who got to dress themselves on their own for the first time for a road trip to the circus.
January 26th, 2009 at 9:25 am
Despite plunging into the luxury line of designers, there’s still a hint of Hip-hop-yo-im-ya-gangsta thing goin on. For Paris? I am quite sure Carine won’t take a second look at this… if only he loose all the obvious brandings around him and baggy shizzles~

The photography itself is great. I love this site. But the subjects look like I ate a bunch of clothing and vomited up these guys. I think it’s because Kanye is so wack.
I’ll never forget seeing him in 2003 performing at Magic and all he kept on saying on stage was how the smoke machine was ruining his LV sweater. I’m sorry but if you’re so rich and great, you can a) buy a new one b) get a new one b/c you’re hooked up. You don’t need to go and tell the crowd who came to hear your music about the labels you wear. He has zero style. He just copies kids on the street and then recycles it and people think he’s fashion forward. Hipster much?
Have you seen his LV sneakers? He says they were inspired by science fiction. I’m sorry ‘Ye but they look like DC skate shoes. Nothing new. Yawwwwn.

January 27th, 2009 at 6:08 pm
ahahah wow for people into fashion you sure love to hate. fashion is an art form. it is whatever you want it to be. how can you tell an artist his painting is not art just because it isnt what you think art it. ahaha get over your ideals of what fashion should be and you will see these guys dress 1000 times better than you
January 27th, 2009 at 7:33 pm
Whats funny is that all those guys know are brands they’re like walking billboards and nothing is wrong wit that but you can tell that some of them don’t even appreciate the history of the brand of clothing that they willingly pay for look at the guy in the Moncler vest I wonder if he even knows any of Raf Simons previous work before he threw on that Jil Sander shirt. As for Deadstock Don with the Sprouse x Vuitton scarf attached to his LV case, you can tell he is trying WAY too hard wit that wack ass pose lol, the only one up there who is looks normal is the dude with the Fendi sweater and leopard pants cuz at leat it looks like he dresses that way all the time, these other clowns need to try again…maybe im just mad that I aint get front row seats at CDG.

I’m a middle aged white lady and even I know the look is entirely inauthentic. Looks like your average inner-city alternative high school crew. Except not effortless or clever and, basically, without the ability to put that shiz together themselves from two trips to the goodwill and one to the dollar store.
Matt hits it on the nose with TRY TOO HARD.
