DANCING QUEEN//

BREAKING NEWS: LA LANPHEAR HAS TRADED IN HER HEELS FOR DANCING SHOES!!!
AFTER SEVERAL RUNINS WITH THE PLATINUM BLONDE, SHE’S MADE IT CLEAR THAT SHE JUST WANTS TO DANCE. LOL. I KIND OF SUSPECTED IT WHEN SHE EXCITEDLY DANCED HER WAY OVER TO ME AT ALEXANDER WANG AND THEN DANCED THE FOLLOWING NIGHT AWAY AT CLUB SANDWICH. SHE TOLD ME OVER DINNER LAST NIGHT THAT WHAT WAS CONSIDERED TO JUST BE WEEKEND SHOES HAS NOW BEEN REPLACED AS HER EVERYDAY SHOES. THEY’RE NOT BY ANY DESIGNER IF YOU’RE WONDERING, JUST SOME LOCAL FIND AT A SHOE SHOP. SHE HAD THE METAL HEEL REPLACED WITH A WOODEN ONE AND NOW SHE FAITHFULLY WEARS THEM EVERYDAY. SHE SAID SHE WAS A LITTLE CONCERNED ABOUT THE LONG TERM EFFECTS OF WEARING SUPER HIGH HEELS AND WOULD RATHER BE COMFORTABLE DURING THE LONG HOURS OF FASHION WEEK, THAT’S UNTIL PARIS FASHION WEEK ARRIVES AND IT’S A WHOLE DIFFERENT BALL GAME. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST: JUST DANCE, DON’T WOBBLE

I SO NEED TO KNOW; WHAT BAG IS THAT!!??
February 17th, 2009 at 7:43 am
I think the bag is Marc Jacobs from 2 years ago. She wears it well.
I love the dancing shoes. Very baton twirler-esque. Are they gold?

Love Kate! I want to see the rest of her outfit!
February 17th, 2009 at 7:46 am
these are perfection, I love how even the fiercest fashionistas are looking for comfortable AND amazing shoes. They can be found, apparently…
February 17th, 2009 at 8:11 am
I could have sworn the shoes were Marc by Marc.
Only the great Lanphear!! Love her.

Thanks for la Lanphear for actually admitted that super high heels are painful!!! Love her dancing boots, the wooden heel is a great idea, well let’s say I always admire her style. Do you mind if I borrow your photo for a post on my blog with a link on yours of course because frankly it’s the best news Miss Glitzy heard today!

Jak and Jil is such a great website for inspiration. I love how you’ve made it a cooking pot of French allure, rock and roll, fantastic heels and story snippets. And more Giovanni B please! xxx

I LOOOVE the bag!!! Where is it from and will I be able to get one of these anywhere?
February 17th, 2009 at 11:16 am
ha! i love this. can we consider this recession friendly?
February 17th, 2009 at 11:32 am
I don’t even think they’re that ugly or anything. And even if they are, she combines and wears them so well it makes ‘em pretty.

Killer

I love her attitude, dancing is the way to go!

Those boots are gorgeous, wonder what they looked like with a metal heel, as I can’t picture them…yay for comfort!

They say: you gotta suffer if you wanna look beautiful.

You CAN be stylish and not suffer – it’s all in your confidence. Why teeter around on painful heels to be like everyone else? Embrace comfort, that’s what I say.
Then again, I am jealous because I have a foot disability and can not wear heels over 3 inches. So I have to make do with what I can.
But replacing a heel with a sturdier, more danceable one? That is genius. Thanks for the food for thought

Finally taking a break – I was wondering how they kept going in those killer heels. These are super cute though. Love the bag!

Hmm, the shoes match her hair color well, noh?
I love how she doesn’t care that it isn’t designer, and admits to wearing it everyday. She is just so cool.

it’s great to be versatile <3
February 18th, 2009 at 8:44 am
LOVE Lanphear!!!!
February 18th, 2009 at 1:05 pm
haha
I was going to ask who the shoes were by. I’ve always been an advocate for no-label items. Sometimes they outshine the likes of the big timers. Love the bag. You had lunch/dinner with the Lan?
February 18th, 2009 at 6:18 pm
aren’t they united nude?

love lamphear, but not sure if united nude can be considered no-name (if they are indeed un).
February 18th, 2009 at 7:06 pm
oops, lanphear!
February 19th, 2009 at 10:21 pm
she’s a great dancer! Thanks to Jak & Jil i have to admit i was a bit star struck when i met her at club sandwhich.
February 25th, 2009 at 8:24 am
They are SO not United Nudes – look at the heel! So, they are random dancing shoes/boots but…in gold? I need to know where this shop is. I might have to ask her!

^The post says that she had the original metal heel replaced!
