CALL ME PLAIN AND BORING IF YOU WANT BUT AFTER SEEING SO MANY EXCESSIVE REINTERPRETATIONS OF THE EIGHTIES, IT WAS JUST SO REFRESHING TO SEE SOMEONE LOOKS SO COMFORTABLY CHIC. YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE CARINE AND KATE BUT IF I WAS A WOMAN, THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I’D WANT TO LOOK FROM HEAD TO TOE. THERE’S EVEN A HINT OF SOFIA COPPOLA IN SUSAN’S ENSEMBLE BUT IT’S JUST THAT ALLURING EFFORTLESSNESS THAT MAKES HER LOOK SO ELEGANT AND MODERN. AT THE END OF THE DAY, IT’S ALL ABOUT BRINGING IT BACK TO BASICS.

This is the look that I want to achieve everyday for the rest of my life. Not meaning to say that I will wear this exact same thing forever, but I would like this effortlessness to be part of my personal style. I would like to acquire it and it may take a long time, but just looking at this photograph, so chic and natural, it’s going to be worth the journey.

Just right, absolutely! I am really into blazers at the moment and hers is just perfect! In fact, I saw another picture of her on Garance Doré wearing those jeans + orange scarf + super amazing blue blazer/coat, loved it too ^-^ I am going to raid her closet (aah if only I could!)

Talk about basics – this is the definition of. Even up to the hair – so easy chic. Love it. She could be carrying a more ferocious bag with such a simple outfit, but nonetheless, she looks fab.

those jeans are the perfect faded-yet-saturated, worn-in denim blue without looking too overworked. plus, the blazer is the exact right proportion- not to tight, not too wide – so it hangs open in such a wonderful way. and the bag! and the shoes!!! (i ADORE the shoes). what i’m TRYING to say in all my verbosity is…. you’re right– this is pretty much the perfect outfit.
