  19. Jozee Says:

what a great photo. that is such an excellent runway-to-street example of pugh’s (i think?) hairy creations. “fierce” is so often overused… but this time, it’s the apt word.

  20. msarah Says:

    fierce!

    http://holyfatt.blogspot.com/

  21. Phoebe Says:

I love the geometry in the clothing. And yes, fierce is definitely an overused word, and perhaps they are trying to hard, but they are definitely attention-grabbing. In a good way.

  22. Faith Says:

How old is that one kid?!

  23. kingchic Says:

No words. This is my favorite shot on JAKANDJIL to date. CHARLES GUISLAIN and SONNY GROO’s horse hair/fur pieces are giving me tingles all over. Jean Paul Paula tries way to hard, but his ferocity works for the shot. They are like a pack of superheroes.

  36. Big John Says:

um…this is just disgusting. absolute victims…

  37. RIKKI Says:

OMG… I wanna be in their gang! They look amazing and the fact they have provoked so many positive and negative comments only pays tribute to their style. And as for CHARLES GUISLAIN I hope he is really young because more power to him for having such a stunning sense of style at such an age!
They have rocked up to fashion week and probably been the most photographed people, somehow I don’t think that’s because they look ridiculous.
These are the kids that count!

  38. eva Says:

vaya panda de mamarrachas, a cualquier cosa se le llama moderno hoy en dia.

  39. vally Says:

  58. John Says:

there’s just something really tiring and contrived about being overstyled. it’s one thing on an editorial…or at regine’s. but it’s more of an eyesore during the day. word of advice: club kids have NEVER aged well.

  59. The Material Boy Says:

Have some fun and don’t take it too seriously! They live fashion, breath fashion and only can think of is fashion. This is just a part of their passion! And we need this people for pushing the boundaries! So except it or leave it. And don’t be jealouse! Fashion is for fashion people;)

  81. This sounds mean Says:

When did people stop picking their clothes in order to make themselves look good? The important thing for me here is that none of these people look even remotely attractive. Fashion should be about creating beauty and elegance in the world. This is something, but it is NOT fashion. Coco Chanel would laugh in all of their faces.

  82. Maurenice Says:

This has to be one of the best group pictures ever! I am so in love with the fierceness of it!!

  86. M!HAL Says:

hahha it’s almost too fierce to the point of being funny…no, forget almost, it is. hahaha
    http://www.snapsanddaps.blogspot.com

  87. stylepovist Says:

Some think fierce and awesome. Some think absurd and ridiculous. I think these people are what we need at the right time and the right moment. They filled the hole left by the absence of the late Isabella Blow. They, as TheMaterialBoy said -’They live fashion, breath fashion n’ only thing can think of is fashion. This is just a part of their passion! And we need this people for pushing the boundaries!’ I couldn’t agree more! Only if Diane Pernet of ASVOF and Robin Schulie of Maria Luisa Paris could join…

  88. zope Says:

Fashion should be effortless, but here it just looks waaay too serious for that. Lighten up guys, literally!

  89. Lindja Says:

Margiela and self-irony! One of my favorite photos.

  90. Lindsay Says:

is the guy on the right the one who was decked out in Chanel at NY fashion week? Theyve got that edge that paris is all about, for sure.

  91. AMF Says:

these people look like IDIOTS. Not fashionable and just ugly clothes. Hey Jean Paul the black guy from the new star trak wants his sunglasses back.

  92. fogo Says:

HAHA, they look like some vampires out of “True Blood”

Love the glasses, not on him though.

  93. Any Says:

    They look over the top…

Seriously, I like androginy, when it’s in a good way with aesthetics ( Dior Homme by Slimane, early Raf Simons ….)

They just look like a bunch of rich scene kids trying soooo hard to look like whey they see on catwal. Sorry, but this is not working… Especially for the 12-year old kid.

And the guy on the right is alwayyyyys with his MMM sunnies. Seriously dude, don’t you think it’s a bit lame to go to every fashion week with the same sunnies and arrogant attitude when it’s raining ?

    Poseurs….

  94. vaso Says:

Ah! This picture is full of fierce and awesome!

(L-R)Dan, Veidt, Rorschach, Laurie, Dr. Manhattan!

  95. Kenny C. Says:

I’m learning French, so my comments will follow as such: comment inspirant.

  96. C. Says:

Fashion is being original in the same time than everybody else.
    cocteau.

  97. sarah nicole Says:

this picture is the tipping point!

as in any clique, these fashion people are individually admirable, if not adorable. together, though, they are a self-parody or the spoof cover of a magazine or maybe a short comedy noir (like an intelligent zoolander). simply put: it’s too much.

  98. lemale Says:

i work in a high grade of the fashion industry and have to say that these KIDS are ridiculous. i am all for some new kids and know that the fashion world is missing some Issi Blow (my memorable lunches with her were epic), BUT these are not the right ones. they are on a scary edge and portray the wrong image. not EVERYONE in the industry is overly gay and effeminate. Charles really needs a kick in the butt from the parents if you ask me. and jean paul paula is a reborn Grace Jones.. must say i prefer MISS GRACE. and Sonny , well lets just leave it as that shall we. Give me Diane Pernet any day. At least she does her thing in a discreet way. It is true that fashion needs a new breath of fresh air but just come to London Fashion Week and a good chunk of the kids look like them and think they are ÜBER cool. and Sonny, please ditch those granny like gliding long skirts. they are so so so not cool and never will be!
with regards to them looling like rich kids, i disagree, they look like the ones praying some new kid designer will graciously offer them a piece for next fashion week, uhm NOT!

  99. jeanie annan-lewin Says:

I think Lemale says it all really I mean they don’t look bad its just so try hard i look at that picture and i see three weeks of looking or making there outfits just so they can be featured on blogs like this. There is a big difference between people who work in the industry and people who Play fashion it looks so considered so desperate so well fame hungry, i dont know enough about them to comment on what they do but i imagine none of them really understand that fashion goes a lot deeper than just looking fierce.

  100. dreamcrusher Says:

    Trés Chic, aimez-déja!

  101. barbara Says:

    oh! come on people…
    fashion!
they know how to catch the attention! i like the zip popping out of christopher william van damme’s pants ;) and aynouk tan is on top of it with the drapings, check the latest shows!

  102. Stylebitch (B) Says:

    *Automated Message*
“Hi! You’ve reached Stylebitch B! Sorry I can’t type a comment right now, but I’m too busy burning my wardrobe and removing everything in my life that doesn’t make me look like I’m somehow connected to Rick Owens! Please leave your message after the jump, and let me know how much you are frightened of fashion all of a sudden! Also, if you have any ideas as to what kind of car these people drive… if it’s not a Citroen, would you be interested in buying mine? Oh..! and do you know where I could find a gorilla that needs a shave? Just..ooh…wait! quick, before you go, can you tell me if this… >> *silence* ….is a fierce facial pout? no – wait hang on! What if I stand ..oh..what if I pose my arm like thiiiis and stare really intently at the camera – okay, how does tha…BEEEEEEEEEEP”

  103. Sarah Says:

I happen to know what two of them do so let me put some things straight. Christian (who is actually called christopher) writes for several magazines with great success and sonny is an amazing stylist, they both deliver amazing work that you all should definitely see. Their parents are not rich and I’m sure that their outfits are not overthought. In my opinion the only reason they’re at fashion week is because they work hard and have a real passion and drive to make it in this industry

Concerning the other three (charles, aynouk and jean-paul) I don’t have any information. It might be done before and some of them might lack originality but it is not as bad as some people here like to say.

All of them have probably already achieved more than most of you ever will…

  104. Mimi Says:

You know what the thing is? I’m pretty sure these guys don’t have serious jobs in fashion yet like all of you. They’re dutch right? Well the market in Holland is so dull, but how do you get a job then? Go to Paris and get noticed! They wear the clothes everyone’s talking about. I think they deserve to get a chance, find their place, learn the business. I don’t understand what you pro’s have against them… Is fashion so serious that you can’t even muster up a compliment but instead try to bring passionate people down? I’m sure someone’s given you a chance as well many years ago.

  105. ambuklao for fleming Says:

I know that you’re just a bit jealous of them.

But you’re blind If you can’t see
that ANDROGYNY is the NeX+ BIG THING!

  106. Coco Says:

Ohmygawd. They’re here to annihilate all fashion victims. Haha. :P

    http://pinkcoconut.izces.com

  107. Mackenzie Says:

I’d love to be part of that fabulous group..

  108. james Says:

They are all totally nobody’s in fashion.. amazing stylist, big writers?ahum no..why do the people in high segment only know them from being over-present.. and never heard or saw a good writing in the magazine’s.. I must say it’s fun to see, and laugh about it, so just do that.. but taken this seriously, or the jobs? don’t think so.. The Netherlands, nothing to do there..dull, boring, not serious..and certainly no Paris..

  109. catherine Says:

ah JEAN PAUL PAULA amazing!! great pic

  110. DVA Says:

OMBG, I love this group shot. Black is the new black, if that means anything! Love the individual styles and great hair.

    http://www.eyeseamagenta.blogspot.com

    x,
    DVA.

  111. someone Says:

The guy, Jean Paul Paula, has been wearing the same outfit again and again, season after season. He has no sense of style except wearing the same outfit….the rest look not bad though

  112. Laura Says:

These guys are my new best friends :)

  113. dana Says:

I aspire to wear black on black on black like that and look that good, and not like a grimy goth kid.

  114. thesophisticat Says:

    Amazing.
    Fierce.
    Brilliant.

  115. chrisdesu Says:

i still love looking at this photo. its going to take some beating!

  116. M.L. Says:

    they are absolutely hideous. (puke)

  117. ILOVEJAMES Says:

These comments are so dumb. The ones from “I am really high in fashion and my lunches with all those icons were so nice” take the lead, stupidity wise.. You do make me laugh though, its kind of cute. Don’t be so scared of people who make you look and who knows they might be the new icons you want to have lunch with when they reach there goals.. Who are you btw? For real James..
And just embrace the fact there are still youngsters in the world who are so passionated about our business and bring a little fun with items back into it. Or should everybody wear black blazers, sunglasses, jeans and basic high heals. Stop crying and go back to work. Jeez Louise..

  118. Amy williams Says:

OMG if i saw these guys in the street i would not stop staring, amazing!

  119. TheStylest Says:

    Sonny Groo’s look dominates…Love the fierceness all…

  120. Lololololololololololooolololollolo Says:

They totally look like some awesome band of superheros.

  121. blacketbleu Says:

    s’il te plaît,

    http://blacketbleu.blogspot.com/

    mille bisous!

  122. wi Says:

the boy second to the left is FABULOUS!!! amazing body and very androgynouusss, LOVE IT! now Sonny and Jean Paul Paula really need to do something about their wardrobe, i mean yea they look fantastic BUT they wear the same things OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Especially Jean paul paula with those same tired heels ALWAYS and the sunglasses

  123. Mimi Says:

Just FYI: Carine Roitfeld has complimented these ‘kids’ on their looks.

  124. Gina Says:

These babies are FIERCE, AMAZING, and FULLY SELF EXPRESSED such a breath of fresh air from the mundane cattle call of same shoe, jacket, and bag.

HATERS bow down because you KNOW you want to be in their shoes!

    WORK IT !!!!!

  126. happy cowboy Says:

    http://onesixtynotepad.blogspot.com/2009/06/interview-aynouk-tan.html

  127. dariana Says:

CAN YOU PLEASE STOP USING THE WORD FIERCE?

  128. dariana Says:

+it amazes me that most of you write and say things that make you sound like stupid blogger fags like bryan boy or christian ciriano and all that cheap crap and you think thats a fashion thing…pathetic
Looking at this image and reading your comments makes me sick.
the guys from mykromag are trying way to hard.ill give charles a month and hell be fashions new darling to bad he is a retard. and you guys would never even consider him stylish if he didnt have daddys money. How can you adore people like these…this is a prefect example of why i hate my job and this whole world

  129. Will Says:

I met Charles in Paris recently. He has style. Knows what he wants & knows how to get it.
Having said that he is also very polite, well spoken & funny. He is the future of fashion!

  130. poop Says:

why are people saying they hate fashion? why are they here? why don’t they just quit the jobs they hate and become an accountant or something? its their own problem… and god the word “fierce” is a disgusting spawn of tyra banks which has become a sad stigma attatched to the fashion industry.
