This person must have had a cobbler remove the original heel and add a stiletto. The stiletto is definitely more attractive – the original heel is quite interesting, but I’m not a fan of how oblong it is. If these boots could have the heel from Demeulemeester’s S/S 09 sandals they would be perfect.
I love both the original and her altered (if it is) heels. I’m kicking myself for not getting these on pre-order and just banking on getting them later. (It didn’t work.)
i agree with william, more chunky heel from s/s 09 would work better with these boots. stiletto looks a little out of place, and i know a lot of people would disagree, but i think the talon heel looks weird and unattractive
I believe this spiky heel version as shown here is one of the originals designed by Ann D, as well. She probably did not have the heels changed as suggested by other readers. I’d love to add this one in my collection, but it seems like they were only available in Europe http://stylescientist.blogspot.com/
well, what I like about ann d is that she throws your eye off balance — as she’s doing here. so this boot works for me. I think the spring 09 sandal boot heel is a more conventional choice. this is not a cobbler-replaced heel — ann d did 4 heels that I can recall in fall 08 boots — the talon, the flat, this spike, and a very thin high wedge. the talon is really cool up close! — I have to defend it a bit. it actually is set back a little *behind* the heel of the foot. then the back bend makes it go even further behind.

Pretty Bad-Ass. Too bad the heel wasn’t higher…. 120′s would have been even better.

Loving how she finished the lacing by tying the loop, and letting the rest dangle. These are boots, with a heel. Period.

I love the triple lace-up Ann D! I have the flat knee-high version and they are very comfy http://stylescientist.blogspot.com/2009/03/nothing-ever-looks-more-badass-than-ann.html.

The heel has def not been altered, it’s just another version. I like these even more than the talon heels because of the contrast.

love these from the front, but really not a fan of the heel

May 20th, 2009 at 5:25 am
Loving the lace detailing on this boot but I do think they need a chunkier heel. Gorgeous, nonetheless.
