WHY I COME TO PARIS FASHION WEEK//
SINCE YOU’VE ALL BEEN SUCH A GREAT AUDIENCE SINCE I LAUNCHED MY NEW BLOG, I’M GOING TO SHARE WITH YOU MY LOVELY CARINE STORY. I HAVE SEVERAL LOVELY STORIES ABOUT MY ENCOUNTERS WITH CARINE BUT TODAY’S IS VERY CUTE. SO I’M RUNNING LATE TO GIVENCHY BECAUSE I WAS STARVING MARVIN AND JUST HAD TO POP INTO MCDONALD’S. SO I FINALLY GET OUT OF THE METRO AND MAKE MY WAY OVER TO THE VENUE. I CAN SEE THERE’S A HUGE CROWD WAITING TO GET IN. SO AS I’M WALKING TOWARDS THE CARREAU DU TEMPLE, I’M PULLING OUT MY CAMERA OUT OF MY BAG TO GET READY AND AS I LOOK AHEAD OF ME I SEE A FAMILIAR LOOKING FACE SITTING OUTSIDE A NEARBY CAFE LOOKING TOWARDS ME. AS I GET CLOSER I REALIZE IT’S MY FAVORITE PERSON IN THE WORLD, CARINE ROITFELD. AS I MAKE MY WAY CLOSER TO HER, SHE SMILES AND SAYS “BONJOUR!” I SAY “BONJOUR” AS WELL AND KEEP WALKING BECAUSE I SEE SHE’S SITTING WITH PATRICK DEMARCHELIER AND I DIDN’T WANT TO INTERRUPT OR EMBARRASS MYSELF. MINUTES LATER SHE MAKES HER WAY OVER TO THE VENUE WITH PATRICK WRAPPED AROUND HER ARM. I APPROACH HER TO TAKE HER PHOTO AND SHE HAPPILY OBLIGES. I PHOTOGRAPH HER AND PATRICK TOGETHER INITIALLY BUT THEN I REQUEST TO TAKE A SOLO PHOTO. SO AFTER I TAKE HER PHOTO, I ASK HER WHAT’S SHE WEARING. CARINE AND I HAVE THIS FUNNY RELATIONSHIP WHERE I TRY TO GUESS WHAT SHE’S WEARING AND SHE TESTS MY KNOWLEDGE OF FASHION. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTO, SHE HAS THE BACK OF HER LEGS TURNED TOWARDS ME. SO SHE PUTS ME ON THE SPOT AND ASKS, “DO YOU KNOW WHO MY BOOTS ARE BY?” I REPLY, “OF COURSE, MARGIELA!” SHE SAYS, “VERY GOOD! YOU DON’T KNOW THE COAT. IT IS BRAND NEW GIVENCHY BEFORE THE RUNWAY.” SO HOW ABOUT THAT FOR A MIDWEEK STORY. I’M SURE THIS STORY MAY NOT BE SO ENTERTAINING TO MOST READERS BUT I’M A BIG NERD AND WHEN THINGS LIKE THAT HAPPEN TO ME, I FEEL LIKE I’M ON CLOUD 9. LOL

Thank GOD!! What a story about approachability! And funny about those boots, my store I work at HARPUTS MARKET just got a different variation of the margiela nail boots this morning (just put them online too, harputsmarket.com). Totally divine.

amazing story! i would pass out if i had to talk to her! i bumped into diana pernet the other day and barely got a word out!!
those are some fierce shoes! wish i had her contacts and wardrobe!!! geraldine and emmanuelle are my favourites though, i think they are both totally gorgeous and super fantastic xo
