Riccardo Tisci never dissapoints. His work is so amazing! He and other few like him are the creators that give sense to something unreachable, magic, crazy, eccentric, excessive, poetic, called Haute Couture.
Bravo, Riccardo!
(I want to see the collection now! I need to see it)

Is this a political statement? Its beautiful regardless.
July 7th, 2009 at 6:09 pm
So scary that so many didn’t catch on to the institutionalising of hate against women in Moslem countries.
Beautiful? I guess.
She’s only a bird in a gilded cage …

Its a very interesting piece. Considering the debate raging in France, is it all right to wear a veil if its haute couture from a French designer and not a foreign religious symbol? I see it as a challenge to the notion of what a woman can and cannot wear, and what it means to wear it. Anyway, I wonder what the bottom half of this looks like…flowy pants? long skirt?
July 7th, 2009 at 9:36 pm
Ooh! New added pictures?!? I am seriously blown away!

I really love Givenchy!!
July 8th, 2009 at 12:41 pm
I totally agree with Jennifer’s statement from July 7. This really raises questions about the debate of women wearing veils as a political, religious and/or fashion satement. Like J. said , this all challenges the notion of what a woman must (or chooses) to wear and what that all means.
As an artist addressing these issues, I say thanks J for providing me with a well worded artist statement! Can’t wait to see the entire collection.
