IT IS WITH GREAT HONOR AND PRIVILEGE TO POST THIS ‘MY FAVORITE THINGS’ FEATURE WITH THE ONE AND ONLY, ANNA DELLO RUSSO. ANNA WAS KIND ENOUGH TO PERSONALLY INVITE ME TO VISIT BOTH OF HER APARTMENTS IN MILAN, ONE NEXT TO THE OTHER BUT ONE SPECIFICALLY MEANT TO HOST TO HER EXTRAORDINARY CLOTHING ARCHIVE. WHEN SHE INVITED ME BACK ON THE LAST DAY OF NEW YORK FASHION WEEK, I FELT LIKE AN EAGER BRIDE IN THE MAKING WAITING TO BE PROPOSED TO. I ANXIOUSLY COUNTED THE DAYS AND AFTER MILAN FASHION WEEK THAT MONUMENTAL MOMENT FINALLY HAPPENED. I DON’T THINK I HAVE THE EXACT WORDS TO DESCRIBE WHAT IT IS LIKE TO VISIT ANNA’S HOME. I DON’T EVEN THINK MY PICTURES EVEN DO HER HOME AND CLOTHING ARCHIVE ANY JUSTICE. WHAT YOU’RE SEEING IS A MERE GLIMPSE OF SOMEONE WHO IS EXTREMELY PASSIONATE AND HAS A GENUINE LOVE FOR ART AND FASHION. I COULDN’T HELP BUT BE IN COMPLETE AWE OF THE RICH, LUXURIOUS LAYERS OF ANNA’S LIFE AND HOME. SHE INVITED ME BECAUSE SHE FELT THAT BOTH SHE AND I EQUALLY SHARE THE SAME PASSION FOR FASHION. I AGREE BUT OBVIOUSLY I DON’T LIVE AS LAVISHLY AS SHE DOES BUT I AM TRULY BLESSED TO HAVE HAD ANNA SHARE THIS PART OF HER LIFE WITH ME. HER KINDNESS AND GENEROSITY GOES FAR BEYOND WHAT YOU CAN IMAGINE AND THE LIST YOU SEE ABOVE OF HER FAVORITE THINGS IS A REPLICANT OF WHAT SHE WROTE ON A LETTER THAT SHE HAD HAND DELIVERED TO ME ON HER WAY TO THE DRIES VAN NOTEN SHOW. ALSO, MAY I ADD HOW MUCH I LOVED HOW SHE WROTE HER LIST IN A GLITTERY PURPLE INK THAT SMELT OF GRAPE. THANK YOU AGAIN ANNA FOR INVITING ME INTO YOUR HOME AS I WILL ALWAYS CHERISH THAT EXPERIENCE.

WOW. This is a stunning photo essay! The way each photo leads into the next is so natural— I feel like I was spending the day with her as well! I have always loved Anna Dello Russo’s style, and it’s so nice to get an intimate glimpse into her life. She seems like a lovely person. That last image is just incredible. I am loving this post. My absolute favorite photo is of ADR in the room with leopard walls snuggling with her dog. How adorable. She is over the top in such a wonderful way. Thank God for creative dressers like her.
