ALL IN ONE//

MONTHS BEFORE THEIR EXPECTED ARRIVAL, I SPOTTED ONE FELLOW WHO WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO OWN THE MEN’S GIVENCHY 8 BUCKLE GLADIATOR DERBYS. PART GLADIATOR, PART BROGUE, PART MARY-JANE, PART CORSETRY, PART PUNK, PART FETISH. UTTERLY AMAZING. GOD BLESS RICARDO TISCI

What an amazing pair of shoes!

half baked, confused and a few seasons late in terms of riding the trends (gladiators, in this case). that’s what these shoes are! Tisci tried a little bit too hard here. these pair looks like they were made by some punk kid from the shadier side of my city. i was expecting more from the House Givenchy…

House of Givenchy rather…

Not entirely sure I like them. The idea sounds better than the actual result, me thinks.

I just might have to admit – these are the most amazing shoes I have ever seen. I want those more than all of the “it-heels” together.
Real innovativity!

Absolutely to die for. Dandyish, elegant, punk, rebellious, challenging, fashion, classic, timeless all in one pair.

Kiki, i think that was the point when you say “these pair looks like they were made by some punk kid from the shadier side of my city.”did you see the mens collection? those shoes, while not perfect for everyone, are divine.

thanks for the word up Fashionwhore. actually, i think the concept and the execution of the WHOLE collection was superb considering it’s Tisci’s debut (or am i mistaken?) for menswear. when i said “made by some punk kid from the shadier side of my city”, i didn’t mean it in a negative way coz some of those punks are my friends and they are quite creative and talented and some of them have actually styled their own boots better than these pair. i guess it’s the “shock of familiarity”. and please take note that i didn’t actually say that this “hybrid” boots are bad. i just said i was expecting more. Tisci is really good at what he’s doing now and am sure he will only get better after this collection. the best thing about these shoes is that it’s generating discussion and awareness.

Oh those are just too good.
They actually remind me a bit of the traditional shoes that Scottish men wear with kilts…hmm!

prob a bit late with this response but i was just looking over ur comments about who the wearer is. i can tell you his name is Panos Yiapanis and he styles the Givenchy show. He is also a very prolific stylist been around for 10 years
